JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla and former Minister Yogesh Sawhney led party workers today celebrated Karnataka victory in a programme organized by Sandeep Dogra Sonu at Satwari Chowk. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Satish Sharma, Corporator Dewarka Choudhary, Aman Bawa, Sandeep Singh, Anil Raina, Santok Singh, Devraj Kanojia, Jagdish Sharma, Ashu Mehra, Sanjeev Vaid, Veena Devi, Sapna Devi, Amna Kalyan, Manju Massi, Indu Kumari besides others
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said that the victory of the Congress in Karnataka was a befitting reply by people to an arrogant BJP government at the Centre. There was strong resentment among people against the BJP over the way the Central Government was treating the Gandhi family. He said, “The people of Karnataka were angry at the way Rahul Gandhi was suspended from the membership of the Lok Sabha and asked to vacate his house. The public anger is reflected in the Assembly election results.”He said that the Karnataka election results marked the beginning of the end of the BJP at the Centre. “The BJP had lost Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra also but stole power through the horse trading of MLAs. The people of the country have repeatedly rejected the BJP in elections. The policies of the Central Government are anti-poor and anti-middle class,” he added.
Citing Rahul Gandhi's disqualification among a variety of reasons for the Congress victory, Bhalla said, "The unjustifiable disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as MP, misusing premier investigative agencies against political opponents have all echoed in the minds of Karnataka people while voting and they have upheld Kannadiga Pride by teaching a befitting lesson to the BJP's vindictive politics. "The people of Karnataka have shown doors to the divisive and hateful forces who wanted to shake the fundamentals of the Constitution, he said.He said, "This is not just a victory for the state, but also a promise of change across the nation tomorrow. The outcome resonates as a beacon of hope for those who believe in secular forces."If all secular forces are united, 2024 will see the end of BJP Raj,” said Bhalla.
Bhalla claimed that with the one-sided victory of the Congress party in this election, now the countdown has started for the BJP at the centre and in other states as well. He said that this mandate has proved that the people of the country are fed up with the anti-people and deceitful policies of the BJP government. He said that while the Karnataka election results have confirmed the public welfare policies of the Congress party, BJP's rhetoric and anti-people policies have been blown away.He said that with this one-sided mandate, BJP's conspiratorial plans like “Operation Lotus” have also been dashed. This is an indication that in the states where BJP has grabbed power through Operation Lotus, the expansion of BJP is going to shrink there, he added.
Bhalla further said that people of Karnataka have emphatically rejected the communal propaganda of BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the BJP had thrown its full might to capture power in Karnataka but the people have given a fitting reply to PM Modi and have given indication of new political equations in the country. He said that the people of the country are now fed up with the rhetoric of the BJP leaders and would now get swayed with their communal politics. He said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra of Rahul Gandhi laid the foundation for the victory in Karnataka. He congratulated Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for their efforts in ensuring victory. He said that the more the BJP harassed the Gandhi family, the more public support was in favour of the Congress party. He said that people in Karnataka have made their stand clear against inflation and unemployment.
Yogesh Sawhney speaking on the ocassion, said that the Congress victory in the Karnataka elections is the impact of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi. Secondly, the credit goes to our central and local leaders, who campaigned for the party. This is a victory of democracy," he added. Sawhney said people of all communities voted for the Congress. He thanked the people of Karnataka for giving a huge mandate to Congress. He also thanked Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and also Sonia Gandhi who campaigned even when she wasn't well," he said. Targeting BJP, he said the people have defeated a party's government "which had indulged in anti-people policies". "People of all communities voted for us. This is a result of collective work of our workers, from booth to state level. They worked under collective leadership," Sawhney said. He expressed confidence that Congress would register victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and Rahul Gandhi would become the Prime Minister.
